Burritos!

A gente fez "burritos" em casa, especialidade mexicana que tem feijao refrito, queijo, arroz, guacamole, e salsa. Acredita que agora a Milka aceita e ate gosta de comida mexicana?! (Ela nao gosta muito de feijao e queijo)

We had homemade burritos, a mexican specialty that has refried beans, cheese, rice, guacamole and salsa. Can you believe that nowadays Milka eats refried beans and even likes Mexican food?! (She doesn't like beans and cheese very much)

Juri Popular (Jury Duty)

Hoje tive que ir para o tribunal de justica porque fui convocado para o juri popular. Embora eles precisassem de apenas 15 pessoas, tinha mais de 120 pessoas la, e dai tinha que ficar sentado no chao! No comeco eu estava louco para fugir, mas quando a juiza chegou, ela explicou tudo e mostrou os jovens criminosos eu ate queria ficar. Ainda mais que se for chamado vou ganhar $15 por dia!

Today I had to go to the courthouse to for jury duty. Even though they needed only 15 people, there were more than 120 people there, so I had to sit on the floor! At first I just wanted to get out of there, but when the judge arrived, explained the proceedings, and introduced the young alleged criminals I actually got interested. I'll have to go back tomorrow to see if I get picked. Not to mention that I'll earn $15 per day if I serve!

Google Winter Party

No dia 7 de dezembro a gente foi para a festa de final de ano de google. A tema era mais ou menos espaco como "Star Trek"/"Star Wars". Eles tinham, como sempre, comida gostosa e alem disso tinha fotografos que tiraram fotos de todo mundo. Veja aqui a nossa foto. Reconhece esse simbolo? :-)

On december 7th, we went to the Google Winter Party. The theme this year was "space" as in "Star Trek"/"Star Wars". As usual they had delicious food, but also professional photographers to take your picture. Here is ours. Recognize that symbol? :-)

Blog? O que e' que ISSO?!

Ontem estava pensando "quero mais contato com a minha familia e os amigos do brasil", mas nao da' para escrever para todo mundo o tempo todo porque sou muito demorado nisso. Dai resolvi abrir um blog e o resultado e' isso.

Demorei para escolher o nome do blog. A gente nao e' muito criativo, sabe? Mas dai lembrei o que aconteceu comigo em Google. Eu fui para o almoco dos Brasileiros que trabalharam em Google. Eu estava todo empolgado porque queria praticar meu portugues, mas quando abri a minha boca eles tiraram sarro de mim por causa do meu sotaque paulista. MelhoRRR. PoRRRta. CorrEEIIndo. Eles ate falaram, "tem que continuar vindo para o almoco para perder seu sotaque paulista!" Rsrs!

Yesterday I was thinking "I'd like to have keep in touch better with my family and friends in Brazil" but it just doesn't work to try to write to everybody all the time. So I decided to start a blog.

It took me a while to come up with a title for the blog. But then I remembered something that happened to me a Google. I went to a lunch for Brazilian Google employees; I was really excited to practice my portuguese, but when I opened my mouth everybody teased me (in jest) because I have a Sao Paulo accent. They even said "you have to come back to the lunch so you can lose your Sao Paulo accent" :-)
